Background

Federal Express Corporation was invented the express distribution industry in March 1973 by Chairman, Fred Smith. It is a cargo airline based in Memphis, Tennessee, United States and it has the world's fourth largest in terms of fleet size. It had changed from an express delivery company to a global logistics and supply-chain management company.

FedEx is one of its subsidiary which mainly delivering packages and freight all over the world. FedEx is organized into different operating units with different wordmark design, the purple Fed  with different color of Ex, which represent different division.

Due to the independence of each operating unit which made customers confusion on each of them, thus FedEx announced major reorganizations in the Group on 19 January, 2000, so as to let customers easier to do business with the entire FedEx family. Other than streamlining functions, the Group also pool its sales, marketing and customer services functions, which make customers more convenience to use the service.

Throughout the 27 years of its operation, FedEx invested heavily in IT systems and had won over 194 awards for operational excellence.
